Sixteen Mile Creek Valley ANSI supports 523 vascular plant species (530 taxa), with 365 native species (71% of the flora). The native flora sustains a concentration of 105 significant species (Table 2). There is the provincially rare Sharp-leaved Goldenrod (Solidago arguta), Cooper’s Milk-vetch (Astragalus neglectus), Yellow False Foxglove (Aureolaria flava) and Virginia Bluebells (Mertensia virginica), 16 regionally rare species and 86 species that are locally rare within site district 7E4 (Varga et al. 2001).
